Street to House Plumbing

We are getting stuff done around here for the new house.

Here are some pictures of the plumbing going in.

This is our line hooked up to the city's meter.

Dig, Dig, Dig!

We are putting a bathroom in the barn, so we now have water and sewer hooked up to the barn .

This is our connection to the new house.

And I have water to the garden!!!

No more lugging the three water hoses to the garden spot!

Yay!!

 Aren't the tress getting beautiful!?

Big Ran has the sump pump in.

Tonight they are starting on the big rock wall down by the basement walkout.
I will post pictures on it soon!!

Footings for the Basement

I first blogged this post last summer.

Yes, we have news on the progress of the new house.

Over the last few weeks we did get some things started. There is a hole dug for the basement.

The footings have been mapped out.

.

And poured.

  WRONG!!

Do you see all that space to the right of the picture here?

The footings were supposed to go out 5 more feet.

So we had to break some of it up and pour some more!

We start pretty early around here!

The new correct footings are in and now the walls go up.

Now Big Ran and I get to tar the basement walls.

We started this project after I got home from work around 3:00 pm in 100 degree heat.

Needless to say, I didn’t last very long!
'

Shafer looks pretty tiny in there looking for a place to raise his leg and relieve himself.

That is our 15 foot walkout from the basement to add a little light down there.

It has been a productive summer, slow but sure.

Shafer is always helping.

He doesn’t want to miss a thing.

The plumbing starts in a couple of weeks.

Stay tuned for more exciting adventures!!

Breaking Ground

IT’S ON!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I have news on the house progress
.
We have “broke ground“!

Digging is this week and concrete next week.

This is very exciting for us
.

I intend to blog every single detail of this whole process.
Maybe it will help someone who is getting ready to remodel or build a house.
I am really hoping that we can get some pointers from all my blog friends out there on what not to do from their experiences.
  That would be awesome!!

Now it’s time to celebrate.

Break open the bubbly!

To the beginning of a great thing.

Bottoms up……………

Good things are coming our way!?!

I would love to hear from you.

Crystal chandelier for the New House

I am going to have a mix of old and new in the new house.
Here is an example of old.
What do you think of this crystal chandelier?
She just got here .
I think she is gorgeous!!
I got her from eBay.
She sparkles everywhere.
I don't know where I am going to put her, but I still have plenty of time to figure it out.
It looks like a crown!

She has lots of possibilities.

Love it!

Progress on the House

We have some progress on the new house.

We have orange posts to mark out the basement.

Shafer already feels right at home.

We have four acres to build on, so these posts are getting lost in the land.

Just taking this step by step.

Ready for the next step!!

It is very exciting to see the plans in more detail.

This being said, I have found some lighting for a little nook right outside the master bedroom.

These sconces are awesome.
I got these on ebay.
Gotta love ebay!

I have some bids in on other lighting as well.
