Madison's Bedroom

I am doing a series of done rooms as they are done.
First I posted a blog on the dining room.
Second was the exit room.
Here is the third room in the series.

Madison's bedroom.
This is the view as you are coming down the hallway upstairs.

I was a little leery of the purple at first, but I love how it turned out.

The floors up stairs are all done in this wood.

The closet in this room is large.
Here is one side.

And here is the other.
Yes, she already has one box of clothes in her closet!

Her beautiful, but not fussy chandelier.

We painted the inside of her door in chalkboard paint.
FUN!!

Pantry Reveal

This is what the outside of the pantry looks like.
It's hard to get a very good picture here, as you can tell!

I bought an old door and Large changed the door knob over to the other side and put it on a swivel so that it swings back and forth.

Of course, you have to have a chandelier in the pantry.
The light switch in here is motion censored, so when you walk in, the lights pop on!
It is awesome!!

I thought I would try to show you a better picture of this old door.

The door swings, so you don't have to turn the handle and open it and also it will stay locked back against the wall when you are using the pantry a lot.

A peek through the door.

Now, on to the dishes!

I have most of my old and some new crocks and bowls on the top shelf.

Then my collection of creamers and small pitchers.

Below that is jadite, my favorite.

Here is a much better picture of the jadite.

On the shelf below the jadite is a miscellaneous bunch of Pyrex bowls.

I have a shelf dedicated to glass ware.

On around the corner.

Some Pyrex bowls and I am starting to collect the bubble dishes.

I also have some cabbage dishes that are very nice to put salads in.

Then the last side of shelves.

How do you like my light on this side of the pantry?

The china dishes in this picture are from the Methodist church in Winston, the town I grew up in, very cool.

On down the shelves on this end are more Pyrex bowls, then a few vintage pitcher and glass sets .

There is a bit of moon and stars canisters and dishes that I bought at my grandmas auction.

I also have a few delphite dishes, which I love.

Aaahhhh! My fiesta ware!!!!

We ate at my Grandma Stoup's house every Sunday after church off of fiesta ware.

My cousins and my brothers and I would fight over the cobalt blue dinner plate every week!

Every time I look at these dishes I can taste her roast beef, mashed potatoes and her gravy was the best!!

I also have a small collection of cake stands.

And a few cookbooks.

Some from Paula Deen, Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman, The Farms Chicks, Gooseberry Patch, and Susan Branch.

This little red cart is on the other wall.

I have all of the things we need for drinks on it.

I love to change this room around, so I'm sure you'll be seeing it again.

The Master Bedroom

Here are some pictures of the master bedroom.

I don't have a lot of decorations on the walls yet.
It's hard to put holes in the walls when you have done all of the painting, sanding, taping, etc. to them.
The ceiling is white.
The walls are a medium gray.
The trim in this room is a darker gray.
We have the bamboo flooring in here.
I do have a canvas print of a pier headed to the beach between the accordion lamps above our bed.

This chandelier has been through a lot already, but she makes the room.

Here is a closer picture of the headboard.
It is a gray linen fabric with silver tacks.
Right above the headboard is a double switch.
One is for the reading lamps above the bed and the other is for the chandelier in the middle of the room.
This was brilliant!!!!
No more clapping your hands trying to get the "Clapper" to turn your lights off!!!

This is a picture of my best friend.
I wouldn't sleep a wink if not for this little guy.

Over in a corner I have a lounge chair with a Shafer pillow, a reading lamp on a mirrored end table, and a sheepskin rug, that Champ loves.

This is a close up shot of the mercury curtain rods and the white ruffled curtains that I finally decided on.
I only took back three sets of curtains in order to find the right ones!!!

The television hanging on the wall above the dresser.

The other piece of artwork that I have hung in here is a picture of Large and me when we took a trip to Chicago before we were married.
All of the writing on it is from the people who attended our wedding reception wishing us well.
Something I love!!!
If you look closely at it you can see where my dad wrote,
 "Love you
Mom and Dad"
It brings tears to my eyes every time I see it.
A treasure for me.

The rug in here is an indoor/outdoor rug.
It looks like a worn Persian rug, so cool.
I will keep you updated on the decorating in this room, as I tend to change things around a bit.
I like the white bedding for the summer, but fall is just around the corner!!!

What do you think?

The Guest Room

The guest room is finally ready for its first guest!

My granddaughter, Gracyn, is coming for a short visit.

This is what the guest room looks like when you open the door.

I was going to decorate in red, white, and  blue, but Gracyn's favorite color is pink.

So I tried to go that way as much as I could.

I love this picture of the old truck and sunflowers, it brings all of the colors in the room together.

I think this spot will be used a lot when she is here!

This teeny, tiny door is a fairy door.

There is an equally tiny key for the fairy to use if you are a good little girl.

Rumor has it that she leaves fairy dust every where she goes!

I have found that I am liking vintage furniture more and more.

This chair is sooooo cool.

The star lights are even prettier when lit up at night.

She is all about Pinkalicious!

The little clay bowls are Madison's and Nic's creations from grade school.

I put old game pieces in one of them.

This dresser is very old.

I added a few of my things that I had when I was a little girl to this spot.

This is one of my favorite lights.

A great garage sale find!

Champ loves it already!

I hope you like it, too!!

Chandeliers

I spotted these chandeliers in a restaurant in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The first one is kind of blurry.

I hope you can tell how cool it is.

It has electric candles on it, topped with upside down empty wine bottles.

The blue and the purple crystal chandeliers just took my breath away.

G E O R G O U S

Wouldn't any of these chandys look great in my new house??

I think they would, too.
